I’ve been agonising over whether to take the wheelchair and crutches to France, or just crutches. This despite the fact that I know I should take the chair. But I’ve been walking so well, and the chair is just another thing to haul around, and …

Then I read Jill’s account of waiting in the immigration line at JFK, and I think, “I really should take the chair.” Otherwise I’ll wind up sitting on the floor in Charles DeGaulle airport.

    I’ve heard rumors that europe in general is not really wheel-chair capable.
